Good Day therapy Services was founded by two Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists with the intention of offering high quality evidence based psychotherapy to the people of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. All the Therapists at Good Day therapy have extensive experience of delivering a range of time limited NICE recommended talking therapies using traditional one to one sessions and where possible new and innovative deliver methods.

Aaron Mauracheea

LLB, RMN, Post Grad Cert CBT, Post Grad Dip CBT, BABCP Accred, IPT UK Accred

As a Mental Health Nurse and Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) I have always remained passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties and reducing the stigma associated with mental health related challenges. This has led to me taking positions with several different types of mental health related services including the NHS, Charitable organisations and private sector providers. To ensure I remain effective as a clinician and Psychotherapist I am committed to continual professional development and enjoy the challenge learning new skills brings. Recently I became an accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT) Practitioner. Throughout my career I have had extensive experience of supporting clients with a wide range of mental health concerns and have been involved in not only delivering direct one to one psychotherapy but also helping establish and develop psychological services.

Christine Hamlett

RMN, Post Grad Dip PSI, Post Grad Dip CBT, UK IPT Accred, BABCP Accred

Prior to becoming a CBT therapist I worked for many years as a Mental Health Nurse on a variety of different inpatient units. Following completion of a BABCP approved CBT post graduate diploma I began my work as CBT Therapist working in both Hull and the East Riding NHS Psychological Services. In my role as a Psychotherapist I have supported clients with a wide range of mental health concerns and have developed my practice so that I can offer a range of evidence based interventions which I am confident are helpful. As a committed lifelong learner I have undertaken further psychotherapy training in both EMDR and IPT. I am also a qualified psychotherapy supervisor.

Zillah Lucas

Dip COT, Dip Counselling, BSc Health and Social Care Practise (Short-term CBT), Postgraduate Diploma CBT, MR COT, BABCP Accredited, HCPC Registered

I started my career in Adult Mental Health in 1989 working as an Occupational Therapist providing individual and group interventions in a variety of inpatient and community mental health units. I became interested in CBT and the growing evidence of its effectiveness in treating psychological problems. I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in 2011. Since then I have worked in primary care, more recently completing training in EMDR and Long Term Conditions.

Lynda Bolton

Qualified Mental Health Nurse and Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP Accred). EMDR trained.

I developed my love of CBT as a treatment for anxiety and depressive disorders while working in a Community Mental Health Team, when I became aware of how effective and life changing, it can be. I was able to complete the Short-Term CBT course at York university and deliver CBT in secondary care. I later moved to the local IAPT service and completed my Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Psychological Interventions. I worked in IAPT delivering CBT and later EMDR for 13 years. My passion for CBT and my commitment to ensuring it is accessible to all has remained strong.

Steven Roach

Post Grad Cert PWP, MA Humanistic Psychotherapy, Counselling for Depression IAPT, Counselling for Couples IAPT, UKCP Accred

I have a passion for Talking Therapies and have over my career worked hard to ensure Psychological Therapies are made available wherever they are needed; this has led to me working in a variety of setting from Prisons to Medical Centre’s. I have an Ma in humanistic person centered psychotherapy and Counselling and am a UKCP registered therapist with many years experience of supporting clients with a variety of different presentations. I am committed to continual professional development and most recently completed both the IAPT approved training courses in Counselling for Depression and Counselling for Couples.

Debbie Foster

NMC Registered, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP Accredited), EMDR Therapist, Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT UK Accredited).

I have had a varied career within mental health, all with the final aim of improving services and access. Prior to becoming a CBT therapist, I worked in Primary Care, in one of the pioneering new Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services. After getting a grounding in delivering services I moved into teaching Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners at the University of York. After making sure we turned out several cohorts of excellent therapists, I took a post as a Clinical Researcher to work on a project aimed at Older Adults championing therapy for this hard to reach population. Finally, I wanted to develop my knowledge and skills further and studied for my Post Grad Dip in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and became a CBT therapist working in the East Riding NHS services. I am passionate about my work, which is why I have always endeavoured to keep abreast of new developments in the CBT world.

Kerry Smith

Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

I have many years of experience of delivering therapy across a wide range of service settings including specialist eating disorder teams, primary care clinics and secondary care mental health teams. Throughout my career I have always been involved in promoting improved access to psychological therapies and have worked tirelessly to develop local services by training and supervising new therapists. Most recently I have split my time between teaching at Hull University and maintaining a clinical role with the local Specialist Mental Health NHS Trust. I try to keep up to date with new developments in evidence based therapy and I am particularly interested in compassion focused and mindfulness based CBT.

Tracy Harris

Registered Nurse, BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist

As a Nurse and Psychotherapist I have always been passionate about ensuring all people are offered the opportunity to develop and achieve their own full potential. I have an interest in Anxiety disorders and long term health conditions (LTC) which impact on mental health.

Nicky Jessep

RMN, Post Grad Dip PSI, MSc Health Sciences (PSI), Post Grad Dip Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP Accredited).

Before I trained in CBT I had worked as a mental health nurse in both inpatient units and the community. I have been working using evidence based CBT for over 10 years and have an interest in working with low self-esteem and anxiety disorders. I am trained in EMDR and regularly use this to help people address trauma based difficulties. I am also currently training in use of CBT for long term health conditions.

Sarah Wilkinson

Qualified Social worker, Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. BABCP Accred

As a Social Worker and Accredited CBT Therapist I have been committed to helping clients better manage their mental health for well over a decade. Through out my career I have been interested in the links between social deprivation and poor mental health and have worked on several projects focused on developing services designed to support individual who are struggling with social challenges as well as mental health difficulties.

Jo Formby

BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy, Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP Accredited), EMDR Practitioner.

I have a passion for Talking Therapies and have over my career worked hard to promote and advocate for better provision of Psychological Therapies. Prior to my work as a Psychotherapist I have worked in a number of health related roles always looking to help ensure those who need help get it. More recently, I trained in EMDR and now offer this therapy to support clients who have experienced trauma. Currently I have been involved in promoting IAPT within the local area and I'm always keen to get involved in mental health related projects.

Angela Goodwin

Mental Health Nurse, NMC Registered, BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT UK Accredited).

Prior to becoming a CBT therapist, I worked as a Mental Health Nurse in a variety of inpatient units, providing help and support for people with complex mental health problems. Following completion of a BABCP approved CBT post graduate diploma; I have worked supporting clients with a wide range of mental health concerns. I am committed and passionate about helping and supporting people to develop and achieve their full potential in life.

Dr Richard Pearson

CPsychol, Chartered Psychologist, HCPC registered, EMDR Therapist.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am committed to helping to improve the quality of life of the people I support. I am passionate about providing the best quality therapy for people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. I have worked in many different services as a Psychologist including specialist forensic services, Specialist Learning Disability services, and Adult primary care services. I work with a variety of different therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). I love to learn and regularly attend various courses as part of my continuing professional development and am hoping to start EMDR training at some point soon.

Linda Budgen

RMN, BABCP Accredited, EMDR Practitioner

I have worked within the NHS for 20 years, I am a qualified mental health nurse, accredited cognitive behaviour therapist and EMDR practitioner. I have experience working with all age groups, with an interest in those whom have served in the military or emergency services.

Edward Phelan

PWP (BPS accredited)

I have worked in a supporting role for many years as a Counsellor and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I have a special interest in supporting clients with Depression and Persistent Low Mood. I am accredited with the British Psychological Society and a member of BACP.
